I'm new to drones - Level 1: Cheap and Fun

We talk to lots of people who want to start flying but find it hard to know where top begin. So we've made step by step guides, based around the budget and how hands-on you want to be with it all. You've found level 1 - Cheap and Fun. This guide is the perfect place to start.

These are the three main kits we suggest to get started in FPV. These kits include everything you need to begin including the drone, the remote control, FPV goggles, batteries, chargers and spares.

Tinyhawk II

The Tinyhawk II RTF Kit is a great starter kit! It includes a small and durable drone that is great for both indoor and outdoor flying. It can fly for around 3-6 minutes and comes with two batteries. 

You can also buy more batteries and spare parts which means if anything breaks you can repair it easily. 

BetaFPV Starter Kit 2

The BetaFPV Starter Kit is another ready to fly package that is very similar to the Tinyhawk 2 Kit. It comes in a nice, hard carry case and has a similar flight time of 3-5 minutes. This one doesn't transition as well when you want to upgrade your FPV gear but is still great to learn on. 

Like the Tinyhawk 2, you can buy heaps of spare batteries and replacement parts if anything breaks. 

BetaFPV Advanced Kit 2

The BetaFPV Advanced Kit is the next level up from the Starter Kit 2 with similar FPV goggles and RC controller but an upgraded drone. This drone has a similar flight performance but has different motors which last a lot longer and are more durable. They also use a slightly bigger battery which gives you extra time in the air depending on how you fly. This kit is also a little easier to transition when you upgrade your gear. 

You can also buy spare batteries for this kit and all the spare parts you need.
