When it comes to 3D printing filaments, PETG is the ideal choice for producing objects that require smooth surfaces and low shrinkage. In terms of strength and longevity, it’s a step up from PLA, while being easier to print with than ABS.

Why print with PETG filament?
Known for its low thermal expansion, PETG allows you to print big objects without an enclosure, with very low risk of warping. Its ductile properties ensure that your finished object will have a healthy amount of flex, which makes it far less likely to snap or break under pressure.
That being said, it’s worth noting that PETG is more likely to “ooze” strings of plastic than its ABS or PLA counterparts are. However, this can be resolved by some quick action with a heat gun!
If your goal is to print an object that is fairly temperature resistant and suitable for both interior and exterior conditions, PETG filament is a superb choice.
